Non-Traditional and Off Body Carry with Erick Gelhaus

This class, driven by my experience and work with Eve Kulcsar, focuses on non-traditional carry methods on and off of your body. We will discuss pros and cons from an experience-based perspective. Once we get onto the range, work with the various set-ups will start out dry and progress to live fire. We will cycle through all the types that end up on the range, regardless of who brought them.

Pre-Requisite:

Gunsite/Rangemaster/Thunder Ranch/ITTS/PRI, IDPA/USPSA rating, or defensive handgun class that includes holster work/reloads/stoppages as well as an understanding of applying the 4 Safety Rules practically while working around your firearm while not hazarding your neighbor.

What to Bring

• Note taking materials
• YOUR HANDGUN(s) plus 125 rounds of ammunition for them
• Magazines
• Whatever off-body carry system(s) you have. Instructor will bring additional ones. Consider purses, sling bags, messenger bags, ankle holsters, fanny packs, pocket holsters, etc..
• Eyes and ears
• Please bring your lunch, scooby snacks, caffeine, and – of course – water. We will break but the less time is devoted to lunch, the more time we can spend exploring different carry methods.
• There is NO additional range fee.

About Erick Gelhaus

Erick  is a retired Sheriff's Sergeant from northern California and a Gunsite rangemaster. Based on his experience and training with pistol mounted optics, he was asked to develop Gunsite's pistol mounted optics classes. He served in the US Army and made it through grad school. Erick taught for Aimpoint and is a presenter at Rangemaster's yearly TacCon.
