About the event

This 8-hour class is based on fundamental shotgun skills and employing it within the confines of home and business defense encounters. After addressing nomenclature and modifications, the course covers ammunition performance selection, manipulating your ammunition and the shotgun's controls, engaging both single and multiple threats, and movement to and using cover within a structure within the realistic distances for home and business owners. It pairs nicely with Low Light Application for a second day. Topics include:

  • As is the norm for a Cougar Mountain Solutions (CMS) course, judgment & decision making will be addressed as well.

Pre-Requisite:

An understanding of applying the 4 Safety Rules practically while working around your firearm while not hazarding your neighbor.

What to Bring

  • Note taking materials
  • Functional 12 or 20ga shotgun, preferably with a 14"-20" barrel
  • Shell holder

  • Ammunition: 10 rounds of 00B
  • Ammunition: 100 rounds of either 00B or Birdshot, NO STEEL SHOT!
  • Eyes and ears
